Day 132: One of My Photographs Published
A couple of months ago, I was contacted by flickrmail by an editor of the "Atlanta Magazine" concerning the use of some of my photographs for an article about the Atlanta Airport. He requested my home phone number, and then called me that day. We had a nice chat. I gave my permission for the use of the photographs using my home email account. He requested that I invoice the magazine to be paid for the use of the pictures. I complied and was very pleasantly surprised to receive a check in the mail.

My explanation for taking this photograph - Nowadays air travel is a REAL pain. Getting through airport security is a BIG hassle. I have Plantar Fasciitis orthoinfo.aaos.org/fact/thr_report.cfm?Thread_ID=144 and must wear orthopedic inserts in my shoes. My doctor has told me "don’t walk around barefoot." Well, when you go through airport security, you are forced to "walk around barefoot." When I made it past airport security during this particular flight, I wanted to take a photo showing that I’d made it. I knew that if I pointed my camera at any of the people or equipment, someone would see me and hassle me about taking a picture. So, I purposely only photographed myself - looking down at my legs and feet. Then I quickly put the camera back in my purse and hobbled over to a chair to put on my tennis shoes and continue on our journey to our gate to wait for our plane.

Congratulations on having your pictures published, Judy! And yes, airport security is a pain in the you-know-where. They even opened one of my bags on the way to Germany. But at least I had TSA locks and they didn’t break them but closed them back up instead. Nice touch.
